Our Clients

maybelle and carlaOur clients are not faceless strangers. They are our neighbors and yours.  They are friends, relatives and colleagues.  Our clients - who range in age from 30 to 102 - come from all walks of life.  Some need meals for a short time as they recover from surgery or illness, while others require long-term assistance for chronic conditions such as Alzheimer's, diabetes, or age-related issues and circumstances.

We deliver meals.  Our meals, which are prepared under the supervision of a registered dietician, meet individual dietary needs.  We accommodate a variety of health considerations and dietary restrictions and are able to deliver the following special diets:  Regular, Vegetarian, Renal, Diabetic, Heart Healthy, Sodium Restricted, and both Soft and Pureed Foods.  We have a limited ability to accomodate food preferences.

male clientWe provide connection to the larger community.  Meals on Wheels provides a source of daily social contact for people who would otherwise be alone. Because volunteers check on meal recipients every day, people who live alone can feel safe, knowing that someone would notice if anything were to happen to them. Referrals are made for those who need more than a meal to live safely and comfortably in their own homes.

We deliver the little extras that mean so much. Our clients receive copies of our Client Bulletin, giving them updates on our service, and providing them with information about other services freely available within their own community.  We deliver other "extras", such as emergency food bags in winter, birthday gifts & cupcakes, Thanksgiving cards, and Christmas gifts - all mademarykatherine possible thanks to donations from local community groups and generous individuals. To those who can make good use of them, we are often able to deliver yarn and books as well.  These "extras" are the little things that remind our neighbors that someone cares.
